Hello and welcome to my new website!

I'm Helena, a needle felting artist living in Raisio, Finland. I make art mainly by needle felting but I also use other techniques like wet felting, sewing etc. 

I make pet portraits as custom orders. When I make the portraits, as well as most of my other art pieces, I use the technique of painting with wool. That is, I create paintings by needle felting: using felting needle sort of as a brush and wool as paint. I poke wool on to the surface of fabric using felting needle (a barbed needle, specifically designed for needle felting), which attaches the fiber to the fabric. I mainly use linen fabric in my designs, because it looks cool with wool and is more ecological and ethical than cotton or most wool felts.
